D’Souza filed a motion to dismiss the case against him and seek temporary protection from any coercive action, such as arrest, until his claim is decided.

The Bombay High Court on Friday refused temporary protection to Sanville, alias Sam D’Souza, in a case related to an alleged claim of Rs 25 crore bribe from actor Shah Rukh Khan for not implicates his son Aryan Khan in the Cordelia Cruz drug case. . Former NCB District Director Samir Wankidi is one of the defendants in the case.

D’Souza, through Advocate Pankaj Jadhav, filed a petition to dismiss the case against him. He also requested temporary protection from any coercive action, such as arrest, until his request was decided. However, the recess panel consisting of Justices Abhay Ahuja and Mmm refused.

Earlier, the court had granted temporary protection to the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of Inkhead on an undertaking that he would attend the CBI office when called and not make any statement about the case in the media. CBI recently filed an FIR against Wankhede for allegedly soliciting a bribe of Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan for not framing Aryan Khan in a ship drug case.

The investigation agency booked Wankhede and four others on charges of alleged criminal conspiracy and threatening extortion, along with provisions for bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act, on a complaint from the National Central Bank.

The agency claimed that the Mumbai district of the National Commercial Bank received information in October 2021 related to the consumption and possession of narcotic substances by various individuals on board a private cruise ship and that some of its officers had conspired and obtained undue benefits in the form of bribes from the alleged defendants.

Aryan Khan is arrested by the Central Bank on October 3, 2021, following the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship. He was granted bail by the Bombay High Court after three weeks because the NCB failed to prove the charges against him. PTI AVI NR
