Tensions between Paris Saint-Germain and Lionel Messi continue to grab headlines. According to RMC Sport, the Ligue 1 club suspended their World Cup victory for two weeks without pay in exchange for their recent trip to Saudi Arabia which came without permission from the club.

Therefore, the Argentine is scheduled to miss the next two Paris Saint-Germain matches against Troyes and Ajaccio in the French League.

Messi, who moved from Barcelona to Paris in the summer of 2021, has been linked to a return to the Catalan club. A move publicly discussed and considered by hierarchs at the Nou Camp including club manager Xavi, who played a large part of his club football alongside the Argentine.

The relationship between the Parisian fans and Messi took a heavy blow after the 2022 World Cup final, which saw Messi and his companions end a 36-year wait to win the World Cup for the third time against France in the final match.

Paris Saint-Germain, who currently leads the French League table with 75 points in 33 matches, was eliminated from the French Cup and the Champions League.
