Three people have died after a fire broke out in a temple in Wagoli Pune. The fire brigade said that four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders exploded during the accident.

Adjacent to the site, fire officials said, was another warehouse with about 400 LPG cylinders. Firefighters made sure that the fire did not spread to the second warehouse, avoiding a major tragedy.

According to officials, the Pune fire brigade received a call at around 11.45pm about the fire that occurred at the Ubale Nagar godown of Shubh Sajavat, a company that provides materials to create bandanas for various jobs.

Teams from Pune Fire Brigade and Pune Urban Development Authority (PMRDA) soon rushed to the site. The bodies of three workers were found at the site. However, the exact cause of the fire is not yet confirmed. The Pune city police shifted the bodies of the deceased to the hospital for an autopsy. They have started investigating the accident.

Meanwhile, after putting out the fire, the firefighters carried out cooling operations on the farm for a few hours. A total of nine fire tenders and water tanks were pressurized for service.
