Gujarat Titans (GT) wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha put his pants the wrong way in a hurry after sub-fumbling in GT camp moments after the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) opener.

For starters, KS Bharat was out for wicketkeeping duties after Saha’s exploits with the bat in today’s match, where he scored 81 off 43 balls. GT Think decided to rest the 38-year-old after his fighting tournaments.

However, the on-field umpires soon got involved and made it clear to GT coach Ashish Nehra and captain Hardik Pandya that they could only appoint a replacement wicket-keeper if Saha was injured or Bharat was used as an impact player.

Meanwhile, he brought in defending champions Alzari Joseph in place of Schopman Gill as an impact player. Joseph was added to the side in place of Joshua Little, who was unavailable due to international commitments.

However, Redman Saha looked annoyed as he continued after a few counts. Doctors came out to check on him and he was immediately escorted from the field, and KS Bharat eventually replaced him as wicket-keeper.


Riddhman Saha hits 81 from 43 balls, while GT hits 2/227

Clinical batting performances from Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill helped the Gujarat Titans (GT) score 227/2 in their 20 allotted overs. Saha smashed 81 balls from 43 balls at a batting average of 188.37, including four sixes and 10 boundaries.

Gill also hit an unbeaten 94 off 51 balls, including two boundaries and seven sixes at a stroke rate of 184.31, including seven sixes, two twos and fours. The duo shared a 142-run opening partnership in just 12.1 overs as they took all of LSG’s fielders to the cleaners.

Bats were also batted by GT captains Hardik Pandya and David Miller, scoring 25 and 21 runs, respectively. For LSG, Mohsin Khan and Avish Khan settled for one wicket each.

In reply, LSG is 72/0 with Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock at the crease.
