Developed by the same game studio that brought us the likes of WWE 2K fame and NBA 2K, Lego 2K Drive is an upcoming racing game. As it is a Lego title, the game focuses on hyper-realistic arcade racing mechanics and authenticity and may turn out to be one of the best racing games out this year. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming title.

Is Lego 2K Drive an open world?

Set in a fictional place called Bricklandia, Lego 2K will offer a semi-open world experience. It is divided into 5 biomes that include desert, green fields, waterways, and more. While players can move from one point to another in the same biome using fast travel, they will not be able to drive from one biome to another.

Will there be different game modes?

Lego 2K Drive will have several game modes to choose from. Players will be able to jump into single races, participate in Cup Series tournaments, or enjoy the story mode offered by the title. However, the main attraction is the story mode. Set in Bricklandia, players have to win multiple races and beat the rivals to win the sky cup to face Shadow Z.

And for those wondering, there are several multiplayer modes to choose from. Players can participate in competitive matches in six-player races, choose to play cooperatively with friends or enjoy the game in split-screen mode.

What does the gameplay look like?

Although Lego 2K Drive may seem like a racing game at first glance, the title is more than that. The races will cover various terrains and the contestants will be able to drive on land and water. The game has a large number of cars and boats to choose from and the transition from land to water is as smooth as what Ubisoft did with the popular racing title Crew 2.

A destructive environment has been one of the main features of many Lego games in the past, and it looks like the trend will continue when it comes to the Lego 2K Drive. Players will be able to break all kinds of things with their vehicles and wreak havoc.

If you get tired of exploring the open world, you can indulge in mini-games that are scattered in the biomes. The game will also offer optional content for the developers who plan to bring several hours of additional content in the future.

But what about personalization?

Lego 2K Drive is a unique racing title in the sense that instead of featuring a traditional list of vehicles, the game puts more emphasis on customization. It has a garage system where players can use their creativity and build cars as they want using lego bricks. However, not all customization options will be available immediately.

If you are lazy or just like to drive vehicles, Lego 2K Drive has some vehicles that you can take to the roads without doing anything.

What platforms will the LEGO 2K Drive be available on?

Lego 2K Drive will be available on all popular platforms such as PC, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, Lego 2K Drive players on Nintendo Switch won’t be able to play with their console or PC counterparts.

Lego 2K Drive is set to release on May 19 and is available on Steam for ₹3,399. If you want to pre-order the Awesome Edition and Awesome Rivals Edition, they can be purchased for Rs 5,699 and Rs 6,799 respectively. On Nintendo Switch, it will cost somewhere around Rs 5,000, but the Switch version price may change constantly when the game is officially launched.
