Manchester United are reported to be interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti this summer.

According to Spanish website Fichajes.net, Verratti is currently unhappy at the Parc des Princes. It was said that he did not have complete confidence in the current PSG project, and he was also tired of being criticized by the club’s fans. The 2020 European champions are said to be set to leave Paris at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Many European clubs are interested in signing the talented midfielder, among them Manchester United, led by Eric ten Hag. Ten Hag is said to want someone to team up alongside Casemiro in midfield, and Verratti has emerged as an interesting person.

It has been reported that Manchester United would be ready to make a big offer to secure Verratti’s services this summer. According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old midfielder, whose contract expires in June 2026, is currently worth €50m.

Manchester United are not the only team interested in signing Verratti this summer. Rivals in the Premier League include Tottenham Hotspur and mighty Juventus in Serie A.

Manchester United’s Marco Verratti goal was the backbone of Paris Saint-Germain’s win over Troyes

Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain traveled to Stade de Loup to face Troyes on Sunday night (May 7). Having been beaten 3-1 by Lorient in their previous match, the Parisians needed a confident performance in order to maintain their six-point lead over second-placed Lens.

Goals from Kylian Mbappe (8), Vitina (59) and Fabian Ruiz (86) ensured a comfortable victory for the visitors. Baba Ndiaga Yade scored the hosts’ only goal of the night.

Marco Verratti didn’t score or assist in the match but he was at the heart of everything positive. He kept the game moving with his passing, creating goal-scoring opportunities, and rarely giving up the ball. Over the course of the night, Verratti completed a whopping 104 of 107 passes (97% assists). No player has completed more passes or achieved better accuracy than Verratti.

He also created high chances scoring six goals, including two great chances. In addition, Verratti won two games, made two rebounds, and delivered two long, accurate rebounds.
