A student whose father is a carpenter, he got full marks in Tamil, English, Economics, Commerce, Accounting and Computer Applications, scoring a total of 600 marks. On Tuesday, Nandini met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at his residence to seek his appreciation.

Addressing reporters after meeting Stalin, the student said she was very happy to receive the highest rank in the state. “I dedicate my victory to my father and my teacher. He (Stalin) gave me gifts and told me that he would provide financial assistance for my higher education, and asked me to contact him in case I needed any help. Nandini told reporters that she wants to become an auditor.

According to data released by DGE on Monday, a total of 94.03 per cent of the 8 lakh students who sat for the class 12 exams in Tamil Nadu passed. This includes 96.38% of girls and 91.45% of boys.

Last year, the success rate was 93.76 percent. Notably, G Shreya, a lonely transgender student who wrote the exam from Namakkal, also managed to pass the exam. Scored 337 out of 600.
