Sri Lanka women and Bangladesh women are set to battle it out in the second match of the three-match T20I series. The competition will be hosted by Tha Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

Sri Lanka looked the better of the two teams in the ODI series, but Bangladesh fought back in shorter form. On Tuesday 9 May, the Tigers beat Chamari Athapatho women by six wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three match series.

Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty led from the front after staying outside for 75 off 51 with seven sixty-fours. On the back of their batting, Bangladesh chased 146 with one ball to spare. Gotti also shared a 71-run partnership for the small fourth with Ritu Muni.

Moni scored 33 off 23 with four fours before being dismissed by Anushka Sanjewani. Udeshika Prabodhani finished with impressive numbers of 3-0-7-1, but she didn’t get much support from her fellow Sri Lankan bowlers.

Earlier, after choosing to bat first, Sri Lanka scored 145 runs for the loss of six wickets. Consistently Athapaththu scored 38 quick offs off 28 balls with fours and three sixes. Harshitha Madhavi and Neelakshi De Silva scored 45 and 29 not out respectively.
