Manchester United feel they can sack Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur for £100m this summer, according to a report. Daily Mail.

Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge of the Red Devils has been a huge success. The English giants have won the EFL Cup and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. They can add another trophy to their cabinet if they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup Final on June 3.

Manchester United are determined to build on the progress they have made this season. They are ready to support Ten Hag in the summer transfer window and have already identified key targets.

Signing an elite striker will be at the top of Old Trafford’s wish list ahead of the 2023-24 season. The Red Devils have always had an interest in Tottenham Talisman Kane.

There are doubts about Kane’s future at Tottenham as his contract expires in June 2024. This summer could be Tottenham’s last chance to get a big sum for the striker if he doesn’t extend his contract.

The North London giants are in eighth place in the Premier League heading into their final game of the season. They need Aston Villa to drop points to have a chance of qualifying for the UEFA Conference League.

Tottenham may struggle to convince Kane to commit his future to them if they fail to secure European football. It is also worth noting that Tottenham, who are currently managed by Ryan Mason as a supervisor, do not have a permanent manager.

Hence, Manchester United believes they can sign the England captain for £100m, according to the aforementioned source. However, they understand that convincing Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to sell the striker will not be easy.

How did Manchester United target Harry Kane’s fare in his last game with Tottenham?

Harry Kane, 29, has scored 30 goals and five assists in 48 appearances across competitions for Tottenham this season. His last appearance for the team came in their 3-1 defeat by Brentford in the Premier League on 20 May.

The Englishman gave Tottenham the lead after eight minutes of the match, and combined it with Dejan Kulusevski. But Ryan Mason’s side continued to concede three goals, and suffered their fifth defeat in seven matches.

Kane was one of the best performers for Tottenham, scoring two shots on goal and creating one big chance. He had 42 touches and completed 22 of 30 passes attempted.

But the Manchester United goal lost the ball 14 times and missed the goal twice. No Tottenham player has performed worse in these two matrices.
