IndiGo Airlines took to Twitter and expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused while responding to a passenger’s tweet complaining about a delayed flight.

Chaos ensued after the temporary closure of the The main stand at Mumbai airport due to “bad weather” as passengers had to wait on Sunday night.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai on Monday as Cyclone Biparjoy morphed into a ‘very severe cyclonic storm’, and is expected to hit the west coast on June 15.

IndiGo Airlines took to Twitter and expressed regret for the inconvenience it caused while responding to a passenger’s tweet complaining of a delayed flight.

“Flight to Mumbai has been delayed for the fourth time (due to operational issues) yet no clear communication. This mess is affecting the passenger schedule which should be appreciated. Really pathetic. Passengers should be given at least one more flight,” the passenger tweeted.

IndiGo responded by saying “it is never our intention to disrupt our riders’ plans” and promised to resolve the issue soon.

As passenger complaints piled up, Air India also issued a statement saying, “Adverse weather conditions and temporary closure of runway 09/27 at Mumbai Airport have resulted in delays and cancellations of some of our flights.”

“Extreme weather conditions and temporary closure of Runway 09/27 at Mumbai Airport, as well as other consequential factors beyond our control, have resulted in delays and cancellations of some of our flights. We regret the inconvenience caused to our guests, as we are doing our best to minimize disruptions,” Air India tweeted.

Many passengers have taken to Twitter to complain about flight delays and cancellations.

Cyclonic storm “Peparjoy” has intensified into a “very severe cyclonic storm” and is likely to hit southwest Gujarat and neighboring Pakistani coasts.
