the actor Akshay KumarThe directors announced Wednesday that their next feature film, The Great Indian Rescue, will be released on October 5th.

Also starring Parineeti Chopra, the film is based on the life of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 64 miners from a flooded quarry in West Bengal in 1989.

A native of Amritsar, Gill has received several awards for his bravery. He passed away in 2019 at the age of eighty.

The Great Indian Rescue marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra after they appeared together in 2019 Kesari.

The film is supported by Pooja Entertainment and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, who previously directed Akshay’s 2016 film Rustom.
