The accused allegedly broke into Banwari’s house in Rajakhera and opened fire on his wife, Seema, aged around 25, and the couple’s one-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in a room.
Police said a woman and her one-year-old daughter were shot dead in Dholpur district of Rajasthan state in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The accused allegedly broke into Banwari’s house in Rajakhera and opened fire on his 25-year-old wife, Seema, and the couple’s one-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in a room, they said.
They died instantly. Police said Banwari was also present but hid somewhere.
“We got information early in the morning after which the police rushed to the location. They have made allegations against some people in the village and the matter is being investigated to identify the accused,” Dholpur Manoj Kumar said.
He said a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory has been collecting evidence from the site, and investigations are still ongoing.
