PM to Attend Idol Consecration at Ram Temple, Development Projects on Cards for Ayodhya: UP CM

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the idol’s consecration at the next Ram temple in this city in January.

Addressing a public meeting in Ayodhya, he said development projects worth Rs 32,000 crore are now underway in Ayodhya and no other city in the country can match the scale of development here.

A statement issued by the state government quoting him said the aim is to transform Ayodhya into one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

He said that when one of the major milestones, the installation of Ram Lala in the new temple, is carried out in January “after a wait of 500 years”, the importance of Ayodhya on a global scale will increase, adding that the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the event. People have a strong sense of Lord Ram’s presence in their lives, and building the temple will be an expression of their devotion and faith,” Adityanath said at the program organized to celebrate the completion of nine years of Modi’s government.

CM set a target to light 21 lamps during the upcoming Deepotsav and called for lamps to be lit in every house in Ayodhya, as well as ghats and temples associated with Math, Suryakund and Bharat Kund. “The preparations for this must start from now itself as it paves the way for Lord Ram’s arrival at his home next year,” he said.

Adityanath also emphasized the government’s efforts in improving the infrastructure in Ayodhya. In the next four to six months, Adityanath said, the roads in Ayodhya will resemble the Kartavya track in Delhi.

In the past, the city’s roads and railway networks were poor. However, due to recent developments, the journey from Gorakhpur and Lucknow to Ayodhya, which previously took five to six hours, can now be completed in just one hour.”

Referring to the Ramayana, Adityanath said that the next flight service in Ayodhya would be a reminder of Pushpak Viman, who was used by Lord Ram to reach the city after the victory over Lanka.

He praised Ayodhya as among the most prosperous of cities and regions, likening it to Ramrajya which was founded in the period of the legendary ‘Trita Yug’.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ayodhya today not only embodies the spirit of Ramrajya, but also inspires the entire nation,” said Adityanath.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Vrindavan, Prayagraj, Shravasti, Naimesh Tirtha, Kashi and Kushinagar are being developed. There is no dearth of funds for development,” he said.

He added, “We have stopped the looting of public money, and this money is being invested in development.” Speaking of completing nine years of Modi’s government, Adityanath asked party workers to start a door-to-door campaign highlighting his achievements. Adityanath also met Champ Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhumi Trust, at Karsevakpuram and Mahant Nritya Gopal Das at Maniram Das Chavani during his trip to Ayodhya.
