The ropeway will be built over the next two years from the point of the Brahmagiri trek to the Anjaniri hills, it is a very steep road at the moment and takes about 2-3 hours to cover it on foot

The center has commenced the construction process of an ambitious 6km ropeway project worth Rs 377 crore for the Anjaneri Hills in Nashik, considered the birthplace of Hindu god Lord Hanuman. It will be built in the next two years from the point of Brahmagiri trekking to the Anjaneri hills, which is a very steep road at present and takes about two to three hours to cover.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the central government’s ‘Parvaratmila’ scheme, invited bids for the project on Friday, and the document has been reached for it. News 18.

Said to be the birthplace of Hanuman, the Anjaniri Hills have a cave as well as an Anjani Mata temple which is visited by pilgrims and trekkers. One has to climb three mountains to reach the temple, which is located at an altitude of more than 4,200 feet. Once you climb the ropeway, which is 5.7 kilometers long, through the three mountains, the journey to the summit will be cut down to a few minutes.

News 18 It was reported earlier that the center is planning 18 highway projects with a total length of 90 km by 2024. This includes a one-kilometer ropeway to Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar, one across River Krishna to Srisailam Jyotirlingas temple in Kurnool, another to Leh Palace and one to Gwalior Fort.

Work has already begun on a two-kilometer ropeway leading to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Last year, the center also asked for bids to develop a ropeway in Varanasi, along with one for Kedarnath Temple and another for Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand.

A 12 km ropeway project is being planned in Tamil Nadu from Palani to Kodaikanal, a popular hill station; Another 7 km ropeway to Kodachadri Hills in Udupi district of Karnataka, and a more than 3 km ropeway to Bijli Mahadev Temple in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Another ropeway will be built for the Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh across the Krishna River from Eegalapenta in Telangana.
