Danger! Season 39 aired a new episode on Friday, June 16, 2023, featuring three players. In the show format, the returning champion competes against new players to defend his victory. On the final episode, one-day winner Suzanne Goldlast returned to the Alex Trebek stage to play her second match.

The official Jeopardy! is reading:

“A quiz contest where the contestants are given clues of general knowledge in the form of answers and they must formulate their answers in the form of questions.”

The new contestants to play against returning champion Susan Goldlust are Erica Ravel, an epidemiologist from St. Paul, Minnesota, and Ben Goldstein, a content marketing specialist from Dexter, Michigan.

today Danger! The winner is Ben Goldstein

After defeating Holly Hassel on the June 15 episode, Susan Goldlast appeared on the June 16 episode once again. She made her second appearance as a returning champion but was unable to create a winning streak.

A beautiful navy and white floral print and a stunning bright red cardigan. In both of Suzanne’s outfits, her shirt and jacket are both interesting. Many people pair a fun piece with a neutral one…but if you can pull it off, ensembles like this one take your outfits to the next level!#Danger

In the final episode, first-round categories included continental geography, birthstones, 3-letter words ending in X, grease and wanderlust, night skies, and last ending.

Suzanne started well but losing a Daily Double affected her result. While the returning champion struggled to defend her win from the first round itself, freshman Ben Goldstein sought to finish first on the scoreboard. He could have gained a decent lead, but a wrong answer near the end of the round put his score closer to second-place holder Erica Ravel.

The scores for players in the first round were Ben at $3,800, Erica at $2,000, and Susan at $1,400.

Erica Rapheal We were blessed with two floral prints in one night! The yellow and gray color scheme is beautiful! I am very curious about her earrings… I thought they might be viruses due to epidemiology but they look like filled half circles with triangles connected?#Danger

For the second round of the June 16th episode, the categories were Historical Collections, Conflicting Book Titles, Go Tell It On The Fountain, That European Language, Cuffing Season, and That’s It a Little Bit.

Erica thrived on the Double Jeopardy tour. She and Ben gave each other stiff competition. Because of losing $4,000 in the Daily Double, Ben missed the opportunity to take the lead in the second round. Erica took advantage of that opportunity and ranked first while returning champion Suzanne continued to stay in third place.

The results for the second round were Erica at $11,000, Ben at $8,600, and Susan at $3,000.

In the Final Jeopardy round, neither player gave the correct answer to the last question. While Susan bet $0, Ben also placed a smaller amount to bet. On the other hand, Erica went to a higher bet and unfortunately lost it. This put her score lower than Ben’s total, making him the winner in the final round.

Hence, Ben Goldstein won Danger! today.

None of the players could correctly answer the last question. While Susan wrote “Lake Huron,” new players Ben and Erica guessed “Lake Champlain” and “St. Lawrence River,” respectively.

Ben Goldstein: $8,600 – $2,402 = $6,198 (What is Lake Champlain?) (1-day total: $6,198)

Erica Rapheal: $11,000 – $6,201 = $4,799 (what is the St. Lawrence River)

Susan Goldlust: $3,000 – $0 = $3,000 (What is Lake Huron?)

With today’s win, Ben is a one-day champ and next week will be appearing on the show to play against two new players.
