Meteorologists said that good and regular rains are expected by the end of June and the beginning of July, which will bring above normal rainfall along India’s western, central and eastern coast.
This year’s monsoon, which has been sluggish so far, is likely to advance from Sunday and bring rains to eastern India and parts of northern India which are currently experiencing a sweltering heat wave.

Now the remnants of Biparjoy are likely to move northeastward and rain in central and eastern Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
“After heavy rains in Rajasthan, the system will bring rains to central and eastern UP and Madhya Pradesh from June 20. Northwest India is expected to see normal to below normal rainfall.
The eastern, northeastern, central and southern peninsulas are expected to receive normal rainfall. This would be 94-106 percent of the long-term average.
Precipitation of less than 90 percent of the long-period average is considered ‘deficient’, between 90 percent and 95 percent ‘below normal’, and between 105 percent and 110 percent ‘above average’. ‘Normal’ and more than 100 per cent is ‘excess’ precipitation.
