Cody Rhodes was the first person to come out to RAW after Backlash 2023. He was clearly looking forward to the World Heavyweight Title. However, before the tournament’s first match began, Cody Rhodes made references to AEW and ran into a bitter old rival in Seth Rollins.
RAW was booked after Backlash in Jacksonville, Florida, the home of AEW. He admitted that time, noting that they made a lot of memories together at that time, and it was his home during the pandemic.
After that, he made it clear that his priority was to win the world heavyweight title. Prior to his triple threat match against Finn Bálor and The Miz, Rhodes walked back.
The opening match featured Damien Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins. However, when The Visionary walked out on the match, he had a confrontation with former rival Cody Rhodes.
Seth Rollins may be a face now, but it doesn’t look like he’s fully overcome his trio of losses on The American Nightmare last year. The two still have to go one-on-one, and it’ll be interesting to see how that goes.
