The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain in Bengaluru until May 11

Parts of Bengaluru in Karnataka state were flooded after heavy rains lashed the city on Monday and Tuesday, snarling traffic and leaving many low-lying areas flooded.

Traffic jams were reported on some major roads like Bannerghatta Road, Layout, Shanthinagar, Basavanagudi, Jayanagar, Lakkasandra, Outer Ring Road and Kanakapura Road as vehicles were reportedly stuck in knee-deep water after heavy rains.

Southern and central parts of Bengaluru received heavy rains, with maximum rainfall in the southern region and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Netizens even took to social media to share how parts of Bengaluru were submerged in water after the rains.

A Times Now report says that an empty house collapsed in Virabhadrangar district, south Bengaluru, damaging three cars parked nearby.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain in Bengaluru until May 11. Widespread moderate rain with heavy rain/showers and thunderstorms is expected over the BBMP region until at least May 11, the weather department said.
