Officials said that the final decision in this regard will be taken at a meeting of the board of directors, most likely in July

Officials said Monday that the Uttar Pradesh Board of Education is considering using junior colleges as examination centers instead of madrassas, in what could be a paradigm shift for these madrassas.

The officials said that the final decision in this regard will be taken at a meeting of the board of directors, most likely in July.

“From the next session, the council is considering making public intermediate colleges as examination centers instead of schools. A final decision in this regard will be taken at the board meeting which is likely to take place in July. Said Qamar Ali, a member of the school board and in charge of the control room of the school. Examinations (established in Lucknow), according to PTI, some of the intermediate colleges are becoming examination centers on a trial basis.

Until now, he said, exams were being conducted in the same schools.

However, it has been noted that there are problems with internet connectivity and other practical difficulties. Apart from this, the principals and principals of the schools tried to evade responsibility under the pretense of lack of resources. Intermediate colleges cannot escape from becoming examination centres. This will also achieve Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath’s goal of copy-free testing.

Ali said that from the next session, all exam centers in the district will be linked to a control room that will be monitored by minority welfare staff.

These control rooms will be connected to the School Board control room, and the Minority Welfare Officer will be held accountable if there is any conflict.

There are currently 539 examination centers where the School Board Examinations are conducted.

“Observing examinations in all centers at the same time is not possible, and starting next year, they will be held at the divisional level. This will help easily identify anomalies.”

He said some shortcomings were revealed on Monday during the examinations conducted in Lucknow, Kannauj, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Mau and Ambedkar Nagar as there were no seating arrangements for the examinees and those posted to duty were allegedly absent.

There are 16,531 schools in the state registered with the Uttar Pradesh State Board of School Education. Of these, 558 are government aided.
