Driving the No. 13 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, Hailie Deegan has had a mediocre 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season so far despite some strong finishes. However, Deegan is currently one of the most anticipated female drivers in the series. She is working on her requisite racing skills in the Truck Series while looking forward to securing a seat in NASCAR’s second-tier series.

Just like the previous season, this season also pushed the aggression shown to Deegan by the opposing team’s drivers back in the series.

In the last truck race at World Wide Technology Raceway, Nick Sanchez put Deegan good distance. Both drivers #2 and #13 were involved in a three wide battle between turns two and three. However, Sanchez collided with Deggan’s car, sending the No. 13 car crashing into the wall. This batch damaged the truck and ended her day early.

It appears the accident could have been easily avoided as Michael Waltrip, who was calling the race from the FOX booth, said:

“Totally avoidable. You can’t run over someone.”

After the race, Hayley Deegan posted a video of her crash on her official Instagram account with a caption that read:

“I had such a good day that we became rubbish.”

However, her father and former Freestyle Motocross Champion Brian Deegan did not take the accident seriously.

He commented:

“The Truck Series is a joke.”

According to reports from NASCAR Nation.com, he also wrote more about the crash, which has now been deleted.

he wrote:

“What a whore! Yes, this is correct. He knew what he was doing. It should not go unpunished. I’m done seeing those clowns take you out.”

To protect NASCAR drivers, Daddy Deegan said:

“Something has to happen. And NASCAR needs to pull its head back and use the black flag to protect drivers and equipment.”

Nick Sanchez apologizes to Hailie Deegan for his WWT Raceway crash

Nick Sanchez admitted his mistake and apologized to Hailie Deegan for the incident, saying he pushed and bumped into her.

Nick Sanchez was a bit disappointed in eighth as he apologizes for the wreck with Hayley Deegan.

Speaking to Bob Pocras about the incident after the race, Sanchez said:

“It sucks to rip a truck, especially hers. Just racing so hard, trying to get momentum. The rear bumper pushed it out of turn two and three. Just trying to get the two out of me. Just racing so close, I hit it. There’s no two ways to beat it.” Unfortunately, it sucks that it happened. My apologies,”

The NASCAR Truck Series resumes next Friday (June 23) at Nashville Superspeedway.
