The CBI team led by IPS Officer Lev Katiyar, took Sumitra Rabha to the official neighborhood of Gunmoni in Ngaon Police Reserve and inspected the neighborhood in detail.
On Sunday, the Central Bank of Iraq recorded the statement of Sumitra Rabha, the mother of John Moni Rabah, Assistant Inspector of Assam State Police, who lost her life in a road accident last month.
Sumitra, along with one of Gunmoni’s cousin’s brothers, arrived at the Nagaon Circuit home from Guwahati on Sunday morning. The CBI team also called Raja Ershad, the then officer in charge of Dehing Police Station who was later transferred to Kochwa Police Station, to Nagaon Circuit House.
The arrested Police Inspector Manoj Rajbanshi and Sub-Inspector Abhagyoti Rabha were also summoned for questioning.
Sources said CBI DIG Lovely Katiyar along with other officials interrogated Raja Ershad, Manoj Rajpongshi and Abhagyoti Rabha for several hours in the department, asking for clarification of each question or allegation raised by Sumitra.
They added that the CBI team led by Senior IPS Officer Lovely Katiyar took Sumitra Rabha to the official neighborhood of Gunmoni in Ngaon Police Reserve and inspected the neighborhood in detail meticulously.
The CBI team may also call some senior officials of the Nagaon District Police Department whose names have been mentioned in the FIR Report lodged at Jakhalabandha Police Station by Sumitra Rabha.
In the FIR, Sumitra Rabha mentioned the names of then SP Leena Doley, IC Haibargaon outpost Abhagyyoti Rabha, Additional Superintendent of Police, (HQ) Tridib Kumbang and Raja Ershad, then Officer in Charge of Dhing Police Station.
Gunmuni Rabha’s brother who accompanied Sumitra Rabha today, expressed his displeasure on Assam DGP GP Singh’s remark that the State Police Department has ended its accountability of Rs 50,000 to the victim’s family. He said he would not say anything else about the case for greater interest in the investigation of the case.
However, CBI team earlier recorded Bayan Zakaria, Jakhalabandha Police Station Police Officer in the case.
