Bradley Bell has become one of the most talked about players in the NBA after reports that he might be traded. With a potential deal for the star keeper on the horizon, here are the details of his contract.

In July 2022, Bradley Bell signed a maximum contract extension with the Washington Wizards. The terms of the deal were five years worth $251 million. In the first year of the deal, Bell earned $43.2 million.

As the contract continued, Bell’s salary would steadily rise. Next season, he’s set to earn $46.7 million in 2024, followed by $50.2 million in 2025. In the second to final year of the deal, the three-time all-star is set to make $53.6 million.

There is a possibility that this contract will only last for four years, because the last year is the player’s choice. However, at $57.1 million, it seems unlikely he’d turn it down. Besides his large salary, Bell also had a no-trade clause in the deal.

The Bradley Bell contract may affect the return of the trade

At 29 years old, Bradley Bell is still in the prime of his career. He also remains one of the leading scorers by volume in the NBA. Injuries have held up the last two seasons for him, but he still manages to be productive. In the 50 games Bell played this season, he averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

While Bell is still a star player, his outsized contract could affect what the Washington Wizards can get in a trade. During his recent report on the matter, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst stated that it might shock some how little Beal’s comeback would be if he were dealt with:

“If Bradley Bell gets traded between now and next Thursday, I think people will be very surprised at the price and potentially the price will be low because his contract is not attractive.”

Even with his hefty price tag, teams still inquire about Bell. Shams Charania of The Athletic has already reported that the Miami Heat is expected to express interest in trading him.

Because of the amount owed to him, the Wizards may have to settle for less in the trade for the cornerstone of their franchise.
